<h1>CCC Transitions: New Leadership and Council Members Join While Honoring Outgoing Contributors</h1>
<p>The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is undergoing significant transitions in its leadership and council members. After completing his 2-year term, Dan Lopresti is transitioning from the role of Chair to Chair Emeritus, where he will continue to support the CCC for another year. Lopresti’s tenure was marked by his pivotal contributions to organizing AI workshops aimed at combating modern slavery and authoring important whitepapers and RFI responses.</p>
<p>In addition to Dan Lopresti, the CCC acknowledges the substantial contributions made by outgoing council members, including Sven Koenig, Mona Singh, Ufuk Topcu, and Brian LaMacchia. Their efforts have advanced research in AI, healthcare, cybersecurity, and the societal impacts of technology.</p>
<h2>New Leadership and Council Members</h2>
<p>As part of this transition, the CCC is pleased to welcome Nadya Bliss as the new Chair and Katie Siek as the new Vice Chair. Both leaders bring extensive experience and commitment to the consortium’s mission. Nadya Bliss has played a critical role in projects related to AI and cybersecurity, while Katie Siek has focused on using sociotechnical systems to support vulnerable populations.</p>
<p>Additionally, the CCC welcomes six new council members who began their three-year terms on July 1. These new members bring fresh perspectives and expertise from prestigious institutions such as the University of Delaware, Carnegie Mellon University, and New York University. They are recognized for their outstanding contributions in fields like edge computing, machine learning for social good, and cybersecurity.</p>
<p>With this dynamic mix of continuing and new leadership, the CCC is well-positioned to advance its vision of ethical and impactful computing innovations.
