Swiss deep-tech company CCRAFT has raised $7.8 million to expand its thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic chip foundry in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The company, which operates what it claims is the world's first independent TFLN photonic chip foundry, plans to scale production to 2,000 wafers per month by 2030. The funding round was led by QBIT Capital with participation from several investors. CCRAFT commercializes technology developed over six years at CSEM and already serves customers across four continents. The global market for photonic integrated circuits is estimated at $15–20 billion, with TFLN-based chips expected to reach several billion dollars by 2030.
