CircuitHub has raised $28m led by Plural to expand its automated PCB manufacturing 'Grid' factories across Europe and the US. The company applies cloud-economics logic to circuit boards: a 5,000 sq ft robotic facility in Massachusetts accepts uploaded design files, uses computer vision and AI quality control, and ships finished PCBs in days. A single Grid handles one-off prototypes or batches up to 10,000 units across multiple designs simultaneously. CircuitHub has delivered over two million boards and 133 million placed parts to roughly 20,000 engineers in robotics, satellite, automotive, defence, and energy sectors. The investment thesis centers on reshoring: the US has lost 85% of its PCB market share to overseas manufacturers, yet 95% of electronics projects involve fewer than 10,000 units — a segment legacy contract manufacturers are not optimized for. A planned European Grid would make CircuitHub the first dual-Atlantic automated PCB platform at this scale.
