The flaw allows attackers to execute code as root via the validate endpoint's exec_globals parameter. Over 220 exploitation attempts from 64 unique IPs were recorded before the KEV listing, with attacks involving system reconnaissance, second-stage malware deployment, and theft of AWS credentials and cloud metadata. U.S. federal agencies have been ordered to patch by Friday under BOD 26-04.
