Eldeeb is a 26-year industry veteran who previously served as regional director of Cisco's partner organisation in the Middle East, Africa, Türkiye, Romania and CIS region. He succeeds Shane Heraty, who was promoted to VP for that broader region. The appointment coincides with growing interest in AI infrastructure buildout across Africa, where the continent currently holds roughly 1% of global computing power. Cisco is involved in several Africa-focused initiatives including 55 Country Digital Acceleration projects, a Networking Academy reaching 3.3 million learners, and backing of ORAN Development Company alongside MTN and Nvidia. ## Full article daily.dev links to this article rather than hosting it.
