Patched by Cisco on June 3, the flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to conduct server-side request forgery via the WebDialer component, enabling arbitrary file writes to the OS and potential root privilege escalation. Threat intelligence firm Defused observed exploitation originating from a single IP using file:// payloads to write test files, suggesting reconnaissance activity. SSD Secure, who originally reported the flaw, has now published a full technical write-up and proof-of-concept exploit.
