# Claude can now build your dashboards

**[The New Stack](https://daily.dev/sources/newstack)** · 5 min read · 1 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Anthropic has launched Claude Dashboards in beta, letting users build live dashboards connected to enterprise data sources like Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, and ClickHouse, with visible underlying SQL queries and export to BI tools such as Grafana, Hex, and Sigma (Looker, Perplexity, and Tableau support coming later). The release follows OpenAI's similar Data agent for ChatGPT Work by about a month. Anthropic also launched Claude Motion, which animates charts and reports using code rather than a video model, and moved Docs, Slides, and Design out of beta, enabled by default for Enterprise orgs on October 15. Artifacts now support customer-managed encryption keys, and standalone Claude Design users must migrate by December 14.

## Questions this post answers

### What enterprise data sources does Claude Dashboards connect to?

Claude Dashboards, launched in beta by Anthropic, connects to enterprise data sources including Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, ClickHouse, and Salesforce. Users describe what they want to know and Claude builds a live dashboard, refreshing data automatically and showing a timestamp for the last update. Support for Looker, Perplexity, and Tableau is planned for later, and dashboards can be exported to tools like Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, monday.com, Omni, PostHog, or Sigma.

### How does Claude Motion create animated videos without a dedicated video model?

Claude Motion animates reports and charts by writing code rather than using a video model, since Anthropic lacks one. This approach makes the output more flexible, letting users edit animations before exporting to MP4. It is similar to workflows developers already build with Claude Code and frameworks like Remotion or HeyGen's open-source HyperFrames, and finished clips can be edited in any video tool. Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise customers.

### How does Claude Dashboards handle data permissions when a dashboard is shared?

Dashboards use the data access people already have: a dashboard starts private to its creator, and when shared, each viewer's own connections run the queries by default so people only see data they already have permission to access. On Enterprise plans, Dashboards is off by default until an admin enables it in organization settings, and dashboards stay inside the organization unless an owner turns on external sharing.
