The deploy prompt was blunt: “Push this to Vercel. Use Stripe Projects to create the account. Store the state somewhere safe.” Claude handled the rest, picking Upstash as the datastore without being told to.
That last detail is what people are latching onto. Claude didn’t just follow instructions, it made an architectural decision. Upstash is a reasonable choice for serverless state, and it worked. Guillermo Rauch (Vercel’s CEO) retweeted it, which isn’t subtle.

Silly and useless for professional devs to simply trust random AI decisions without first crafting a detailed workplan of every step of the way, get grilled (with questions) then approve each step. This is just chaotic way of work which indeed worked in the end, but “worked” is a range between “good enough for now” to “perfect”, and professionals don’t roll dice.

Developing, deploying, and running the app in production is the easy part.
Attracting users, marketing the app, and generating long-term organic traffic, that’s the hard part.
Congratulations, you’ve optimized things to get through the 1% of the work required faster, and you’ve pushed an app with even less soul into production even faster. This is literally the opposite of the 80/20 rule, and developers will take years to realize it.

Yup, now try to add a new feature without breaking anything to build something slightly complex.
