The default model is the fastest version of whichever tier you last used in text chat, and switching models mid-conversation preserves context. A major addition is connected-app integration: voice mode can now take actions in Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Canva, and Notion — such as rescheduling meetings, drafting emails, or summarizing threads — with user permission. Multilingual support across 10 languages has also exited beta. Free users get Haiku and one connected app; paid users get all tiers and full integrations. Notably, the underlying voice model itself was not updated — conversational feel and interruption handling remain unchanged, distinguishing this update from OpenAI's recent voice mode improvements which focused on the conversational experience. ## Content Anthropic has updated Claude's voice mode to support all three model tiers — Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku — replacing what was previously a Haiku-only setup. The default is the fastest version of whichever model you last used in text chat, so if you've been working with Sonnet, voice will pick that up automatically. You can also switch models mid-conversation without losing context. The more interesting addition is agentic tool use. Claude can now take actions in connected apps — Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Notion, and Canva — after asking permission. That means you can tell it to reschedule a meeting, draft an email, or summarize a Slack thread out loud and it'll actually do it. Multilingual support across 10 languages is also out of beta. A few things worth noting. Anthropic didn't update the underlying voice model itself, so things like interruption handling and conversational flow are unchanged. This is a deliberate choice — the focus here is on making voice useful for real work rather than making it feel more natural to talk to. That's a different bet than OpenAI's full-duplex ChatGPT voice, which leans harder into the conversational experience.
