A Microsoft Build session covering advanced AI agent deployment patterns in Microsoft Foundry. The talk introduces agent harnesses — the shell of tools, context management, memory, lifecycle hooks, and human-in-the-loop capabilities that surround an agent core. Three demos are shown: deploying the Hermes claw-style agent (an autonomous, self-improving agent with its own file system and maintenance routines) into Foundry Hosted Agents; building custom harnesses using the Microsoft Agent Framework SDK (Python/.NET) with features like context compaction, planning phases, multi-agent workflows, and AGUI integration for UI; and publishing agents to Microsoft Teams and M365 Copilot, including a new 'autopilot agent' type that has its own user account identity for performing actions autonomously in group chats.
