An Ethereum Working Group including wallet developers, security firms, and the Ethereum Foundation has launched an open standard called Clear Signing to eliminate blind signing — a structural vulnerability responsible for billions in user losses, including the Bybit hack. The initiative introduces ERC-7730, a shared format for human-readable transaction descriptions, paired with a public registry and verification tooling. The Ethereum Foundation's Trillion Dollar Security Initiative will serve as a neutral steward of the registry. Wallet developers are encouraged to integrate support, dApp developers to provide transaction descriptors, and security experts to audit and attest to their accuracy.
