<p>When I was younger, I thought organization is key. Filters and folders neatly packaging everything up. I still remember organizing my mp3 collection. At some point I noticed it’s not important. Just let your ripper fetch metadata from CDDB and use Winamp to query the database of indexed files. Later for email, I just have everything in one folder (there is an exception for some transactional stuff that I immediately move away and mark as read). My inbox is a short term todo list. Everything that requires attention is left unread but transformed asap into action, a ticket, a calendar event or something else that feeds into a process. No folders needed. Search is usually good enough to find something.</p>
