Ghent-based startup Companion.energy has raised €7.8M in a seed round led by Realyze Ventures and Pi Labs to expand its enterprise energy automation platform into Germany and Spain. Founded in 2022, the company sells software that connects industrial firms' energy contracts, operational systems, and distributed assets — including batteries, solar arrays, and EV chargers — into a single platform that forecasts demand, models market exposure, and automates procurement decisions in real time. The platform manages over 2 TWh of annual energy consumption and claims to cut clients' energy costs by 10–30%. Revenue grew tenfold in the year to mid-2026, surpassing €1M ARR. The raise follows a €2.1M round in 2024 and reflects growing investor interest in software enabling the energy transition for large industrial firms.
