AWS announced several new services at AWS Summit New York City aimed at giving AI agents governed access to enterprise data context. AWS Context is a new service that automatically maps relationships across data sources into a knowledge graph, enabling agentic search with identity-aware governance via IAM and Lake Formation. AWS Glue Data Catalog gains business context enrichment and semantic search in preview, plus a new 'skill assets' concept that lets data producers attach documentation and runbooks to datasets for agent consumption. Amazon S3 Annotations is now generally available, allowing up to 1 GB of queryable business metadata to be attached directly to S3 objects stored in Apache Iceberg format. All services are designed around open standards, MCP compatibility, and integration with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Athena, Redshift, and other AWS data tools.
