JetBrains and GitHub have announced a deeper integration between JetBrains AI Assistant and GitHub Copilot. Copilot is now a first-class option in the AI Assistant agent picker, letting developers select it directly from the AI chat. The integration supports model selection, reasoning depth tuning, and multistep coding tasks. Upcoming features include Next Edit Suggestions (NES), reusable skills, and deeper tool orchestration within the IDE.
