GitHub Copilot CLI's redesigned terminal interface is now generally available after being previewed at Microsoft Build 2026. The update introduces a tabbed layout for browsing issues, pull requests, and gists directly from the terminal, with keyboard shortcuts to reference items in prompts. Tool configuration is now guided in-session via commands like /mcp add, /mcp search, /skills, /plugin, and /settings — no manual config file editing required. The interface also gains theme-aware colors, responsive layout for narrow terminals, and screen reader support. Update via copilot update.
