System76 has released COSMIC Epoch 1.1, the first minor version bump since the initial 1.0 release in December. Key additions include COSMIC-Monitor, a new system monitoring tool intended to replace GNOME System Monitor in Pop!_OS. The Wayland compositor COSMIC-Comp gains tiling exceptions, named pinned workspaces, and separation of logind from systemd. Other improvements include recursive wallpaper directory scanning, Page-Up/Down support in the file manager, and a performance fix in COSMIC-Term to avoid re-reading the system theme on every menu bar render. The team also plans to regularly increment the minor version to allow mid-release patch versions.
