The flaw allows unauthenticated remote code execution via a malicious .NET BinaryFormatter payload delivered through a forged SecurityContextToken in a WS-Federation sign-in request. A public PoC exploit appeared on GitHub on July 20, and exploitation attempts were detected within hours. Attacks on on-premise SharePoint deployments were observed as early as July 17.
