# Cursor doubles usage limits for Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5 on all paid plans

**[Collections](https://daily.dev/sources/collections)** · 1 min read · 2 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Cursor has doubled the usage quota for its first-party models — Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5 — across all paid individual and team plans, with no plan upgrade required. On the context management front, Kent C. Dodds highlighted that Cursor's automatic compaction optimizations help prevent model degradation as context fills up, arguing that users shouldn't have to manually manage context. A context window reset feature is also reportedly in the works.

## Content

Cursor has doubled the included usage quota for its first-party models across all paid individual and team plans. That means more access to Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5 before hitting any limits.

For anyone wondering how Grok fits into this: your Cursor subscription covers Grok 4.5 usage inside the Cursor IDE — autocomplete, chat, inline edits, and the Composer agent for larger tasks. This is separate from xAI's Grok Build CLI tool, which requires its own SuperGrok or X Premium+ subscription. The two don't share quotas.

On the model behavior side, some users have noted that Cursor's context compaction optimizations seem to prevent the "dumb zone" problem — where models degrade as context windows fill up. The argument is that managing context shouldn't be something users have to think about; the editor should handle it automatically. Cursor apparently does.

A context reset feature is also reportedly coming soon.
