# Cut And Fold Your 3D Printer’s Next Cover

**[Hackaday](https://daily.dev/sources/hackaday)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

A DIY top cover for the Snapmaker U1 3D printer made from corrugated plastic (Coroplast) or cardboard, requiring no 3D printing. The design uses a provided cutout diagram to fold and assemble a hat-shaped cover that retains heat, blocks drafts, and keeps dust away. Assembly requires only tape, and the front panel can be lifted for access without removing the cover. Optional viewing windows can be added by cutting a hole and taping clear plastic over it.
