Dapr 1.18 introduces Verifiable Execution, a set of capabilities bringing cryptographic trust and tamper-evident audit trails to distributed applications and AI agents. The release includes Workflow History Signing (using SPIFFE-based identities), Workflow History Propagation (extending execution lineage across service boundaries), and Workflow Attestation (enabling policy decisions based on verified provenance). Additional updates include the Jobs API graduating to stable, Component and Configuration Hot Reloading reaching GA, Actor runtime improvements via bidirectional gRPC streams, and IPv6/dual-stack networking support. The release targets regulated industries where proving how AI-driven decisions were made is becoming a compliance requirement.
