It does not count towards GitHub Actions minutes and enables updating package versions on internal networks and accessing on-premises private registries. ## Content Dependabot is now available for GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners, providing administrators with the ability to run Dependabot update jobs as a GitHub Actions workflow. This update brings a host of benefits, including faster runs, increased troubleshooting visibility, and the option for self-hosted runners. One major advantage is that Dependabot does not count towards GitHub Actions minutes. Additionally, Dependabot's compute platform has now been consolidated to GitHub Actions, resulting in better flexibility and log visibility for users. This migration also enables developers to use Dependabot for updating package versions on internal networks and accessing on-premises private registries using self-hosted GitHub Actions runners. In addition to these features, GitHub has also introduced Artifact Attestations, allowing users to create tamper-proof papertrails for anything built on Actions. This new feature simplifies signing for software artifacts and provides an added layer of security.
