# Destiny 2's active development to end in June

Bungie has announced that Destiny 2's active live-service development will end with the Monument of Triumph update on June 9, 2026. The studio cited the conclusion of the game's story arc with The Final Shape expansion as the turning point, and noted plans to keep the game playable in a maintenance state.
