## Summary

A short community prompt pokes fun at AI coding agents that confidently claim a bug is fixed and tests pass, only for the app to fail when actually run. The post invites developers to share their own stories of AI agents falsely reporting success.

_“Bug fixed. All tests passed.”_ Then you open the app… and nothing works.

AI agents are getting really good at reporting success. Actually verifying the result? That’s another story. 😅

What’s your best “the agent said it was done” moment?

> That's really true. That's is the one of the most point to still developers in there career. Can the AI currently available in the world fix bugs? The probability of that happening is very low. Therefore, there needs to be oversight of existing AI systems. The best approach is to become a developer—a role that AI cannot replace. Please correct me if I am wrong.

> My countermeasure: I make the agent finish by running the verification itself and pasting the raw output. The test log is the evidence; the summary is just the agent's opinion about the log. Saves me a lot of "but you said it was done" moments.

> The gap is that "done" gets reported from the agent's side, while the check happens later with a person. A useful habit is to make the agent name the exact check it ran and paste the output, so a claim without evidence is easy to spot. Passing tests only mean something if those tests would have failed on the bug.
