Figma's Brand Studio shares the creative process behind Config 2026's visual identity, held at San Francisco's Moscone Center. The team built a design system around three themes — evolution, fluidity, and harmony — using AI-generated textures, expressive glyphs, and motion assets developed in parallel with static designs. They used Figma Make to create lo-fi texture tools and a dithering tool for speaker headshots. Physical installations at the venue included extruded foam glyph sculptures, an interactive Play Canvas using jumbo Figma Draw tools, and a Shared Frequency print experience. Conference merch included a flexi disc and music box keychain featuring original ambient music. The identity aimed to balance digital precision with intentional imperfection, celebrating human creativity in an AI-assisted workflow.
