«Au revoir» Silicon Valley
France is mandating that public sector employees stop using American video conferencing services like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, and Google Meet by 2027. The government will replace these with Visio, a French-built solution developed by Direction interministérielle du numérique (Dinum), which has been tested by 40,000 users. The move aims to achieve digital sovereignty, improve data security, reduce dependency on external infrastructure, and save an estimated one million euros annually per 100,000 users who switch from licensed solutions.
