Dragonfly v2.5.0 is released with several new features and improvements. Key additions include direct model repository downloads from Hugging Face and ModelScope via P2P acceleration, a Kubernetes Mutating Admission Webhook (dragonfly-injector) for automatic P2P capability injection into Pods, a blocklist feature for emergency download control, comprehensive rate limiting across the control plane and client, and a new dfctl CLI tool for managing local storage tasks. Container registry proxy configuration is simplified with automatic upstream registry inference. Performance improvements include better parent peer coordination, buffered writes for file transfers, and tuned gRPC stream settings. Security improvements include stripping sensitive headers on cross-origin redirects. Nydus also receives enhancements including prefetch-optimized layer blobs, OCI format conversion, and uffd-based virtio-pmem DAX backend support.
