DreamWorks Animation's MoonRay renderer, open-sourced in March 2023 as OpenMoonRay, has joined the Academy Software Foundation as its newest hosted project. It now sits alongside other industry-standard open-source projects like OpenColorIO, OpenEXR, OpenVDB, and Open Shading Language. MoonRay has been used in production feature films including Kung Fu Panda 4, The Wild Robot, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
