EA stated the cuts were made to better align teams around community priorities and that Battlefield remains a top franchise investment. The layoffs come amid controversy over AI-generated cosmetics in the game and EA's pending acquisition by PIF, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners, though EA denies any connection between the acquisition and the job cuts. ## Full article daily.dev links to this article rather than hosting it.
