# Early Linux 7.3 Kernel Benchmarks Show Some Performance Improvements, Some Regressions

**[Phoronix](https://daily.dev/sources/phoronix)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Early benchmarks comparing Linux 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, and pre-release 7.3 Git kernels on an HP Z4 G6i workstation with a 48-core Intel Xeon 678X Granite Rapids WS processor, using the Ubuntu 26.10 daily software stack. Testing used the Nouveau driver with Zink/NVK for the NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPU and local kernel builds due to unreliable Ubuntu Mainline Kernel PPA builds. Results across dozens of workloads show a mix of performance gains and regressions in the still-in-development 7.3 kernel.
