Eggtronic and Renesas Electronics have jointly released a 500-W solar microinverter reference design (ERD00718) targeting next-generation photovoltaic systems. The platform combines Eggtronic's EPIC2ACO01 mixed-signal controller — featuring variable frequency modulation and zero-voltage switching up to 1 MHz — with Renesas' TP65B110HRU bidirectional GaN switch in a single-stage DC-to-AC architecture. The design achieves 96.1% CEC average efficiency, keeps THD below 3% (IEEE 1547 compliant), and reduces component count compared to multi-stage topologies. It is available for evaluation by qualified OEMs and system integrators.
