Omnissa's State of Digital Workspace report reveals enterprise Windows PCs lag behind Macs in patching speed, reliability, and longevity. macOS devices update 1.5x faster than Windows, iOS updates 8.1x faster than Android, and Windows users experience 3.1x more forced shutdowns and 7.5x more app hangs. Sensitive industries like healthcare and pharma are the worst at OS patching. The report also notes 36% YoY growth in virtual desktops, likely driven by Windows 10 end-of-life, and 988% growth in Google Pixel adoption partly attributed to DoD approval. Microsoft Edge is closing in on Chrome in enterprise browser share at 41% vs 43%.
