era v0.6.0 is now on CRAN, introducing two new capabilities for working with year vectors in R: chronological comparison functions (yr_earlier_than, yr_later_than) and a chronological difference function (yr_difference). These functions are era-aware, correctly handling backwards-counting systems like BCE. The release also supports development of tempo, a forthcoming package for representing chronological intervals and temporal relations.
