# EVE Online's cross-platform engine framework goes open source

## Summary

Fenris Creations (formerly CCP Games) has open sourced Carbon, the cross-platform game engine framework powering EVE Online. The release covers more than two dozen modules including Destiny (physics simulation and pathfinding), Trinity (graphics), plus networking, UI, audio, resource management, scripting, and scheduling components. Fenris will continue using Carbon for EVE Online and the upcoming EVE Frontier MMO.
