# Every sector finished bullish last week, and the most covered stock had no verdict

**[AlphAI](https://daily.dev/sources/alphai)** · [@mikhailmakeev](https://daily.dev/mikhailmakeev) · 1 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

A weekly financial news sentiment report shows all twelve tracked sectors turned bullish for the first time in five weeks, with a net sentiment of 35% bullish across 15,970 company-level sentiment reads from 13,015 articles. AMD was the most covered stock at 226 reads but ended nearly split (94 bullish vs 73 bearish), showing that coverage volume doesn't equal sentiment verdict. Caterpillar was unanimously bullish (106-0) while The Trade Desk was unanimously bearish (0-46). The piece also warns that raw read/article volumes are rising due to growing ingest capacity, so only percentage comparisons are valid week over week, not raw counts.

## Content

We score every news article we ingest and label sentiment per company, so one article naming five firms produces five reads. Last week that came to 15,970 reads across 13,015 articles, and the aggregate was the most one-sided we have measured: net 35% bullish, with all twelve sectors positive for the first time in the five weeks this has run.

The part I didn't expect is that the loudest ticker produced no signal. AMD was the most covered name of the week at 226 reads and finished 94 bullish to 73 bearish, because record data-center revenue and a capital-spending surge landed in the same coverage. Caterpillar meanwhile went 106 bullish and zero bearish, and The Trade Desk went zero bullish and 46 bearish. Coverage volume and coverage verdict are different axes, and mixing them is the easiest mistake to make with this kind of data.

One caveat for anyone building on a feed like this. Our ingest has been growing, so raw counts rise week to week for reasons that have nothing to do with the news. Percentages compare across issues, volumes don't.
