Optiak, a startup founded by DeepMind, Amazon, and Stripe alumni, has emerged from stealth with a €4m pre-seed round led by Market One Capital. The company is building a modular orchestration layer that sits between enterprise AI applications and the underlying models, providing a single control point for security, governance, memory, observability, and cost optimization. The product targets the growing 'shadow AI' problem — unsanctioned AI tool usage that has contributed to data leaks at 46% of organizations and accounts for roughly one in five breaches. Rather than forcing enterprises to consolidate on a single AI provider, Optiak positions itself as a neutral intermediary that routes requests to the best permitted model at the lowest cost. The company has also launched a Design Partner Programme for early enterprise co-development.
