Expanded billing choice and lower fees on Google Play

Google Play is introducing expanded billing flexibility and lower fees starting June 30, 2026. Developers can now use alternative billing systems or link users to external websites alongside Google Play's billing. The service fee structure is being separated from the billing fee: a 10% service fee applies to the first $1M in annual earnings and all auto-renewing subscriptions, with an additional 5% billing fee only when using Google Play's billing system in the US, UK, and EEA. New programs — Games Level Up and Apps Experience — offer reduced rates for developers delivering high-quality experiences, with program rate cards available from September 30, 2026. The rollout begins in the US, EEA, and UK, with other markets to follow on a staggered schedule.
