# Firebase Crashlytics graduates from beta

**[Firebase](https://daily.dev/sources/firebase-blog)** · 4 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Firebase Crashlytics has exited beta and become Firebase's default crash reporter, replacing Firebase Crash Reporting. New GA features include breadcrumb integration with Analytics events, automated crash insights highlighting root causes, the ability to pin important builds for team visibility, and a manual dSYM uploader tool for cases where automatic symbolication fails. Firebase Crash Reporting will remain functional until September 8, 2018, after which it will be fully retired, and users are urged to upgrade to Crashlytics via the Firebase console. Fabric users can also now link their accounts to see crash data within the Firebase console.

## Questions this post answers

### When does Firebase Crash Reporting shut down and get replaced by Crashlytics?

Firebase Crash Reporting remains accessible through September 8, 2018, and becomes fully inaccessible starting September 9, 2018. Firebase Crashlytics became the default crash reporter for Firebase upon its general availability release, and existing Crash Reporting data can still be viewed by switching apps in the console's app picker until the shutdown date.

### What new features did Firebase Crashlytics get when it left beta?

The general availability release added breadcrumb integration with Analytics events for retracing user actions before a crash, automated crash insights that surface likely root causes, the ability to pin important builds so they appear at the top of the console for the whole team, and a manual dSYM uploader tool for cases like Bitcode-compiled apps where automatic symbolication fails.
