Dublin-based tax-tech startup Fonoa has raised a $110M Series C led by Headline, with participation from Eurazeo, Forestay Capital, Index Ventures, and others. Simultaneously, it completed the acquisition of PwC's Indirect Tax Edge, an enterprise VAT/GST compliance product used by large global organizations. The combined move positions Fonoa to offer a unified, real-time tax compliance platform as governments worldwide shift toward transaction-level e-invoicing and real-time reporting mandates. PwC's decision to divest a live enterprise product to a scale-up rather than build the real-time layer itself is seen as a significant endorsement of Fonoa's infrastructure. The company plans to use the capital to add AI-driven monitoring and automation to workflows that previously required heavy manual effort.
