Everyone quoted Pichai's "a quarter of new code at Google is AI-generated." The part that matters came next: it's "then reviewed and accepted by engineers." Generation is cheap now — review is where the human value relocated.

Contrarian read: as AI writes more of your code, your job converges on review. And reviewing a machine's output is harder than a human's — no author to interrogate, no mental model to borrow. 🔗
