Forgejo published v1.20 on 24 July 2023, marking the highlight of the summer period. The release introduced many breaking changes, particularly around scoped access tokens, and required careful communication to admins and users. Codeberg was upgraded to v1.20.2-0 on 10 August, but a storage settings regression caused packages to go temporarily unavailable. A robust fix including automated upgrade tests was developed and will ship in v1.20.3-0. Development progress includes federation work (F3 driver now uses gof3 CLI, new forgejo-cli f3 mirror subcommand), moderation improvements (blocking a user removes them as collaborator), Debian packages joining forgejo-contrib, a Helm chart update for deploying the Forgejo runner, and a website restructure using Astro content collections. The stable release workflow was also improved so version tags now appear directly in their corresponding stable branches.
