# [Four additional topics are now available for Events](https://api.daily.dev/r/J2sekvlof "Go to post")

Shopify's Events feature, currently in developer preview under the unstable API version, now supports four additional subscription topics: Metaobject, MetafieldDefinition, MetaobjectDefinition, and InventoryTransfer. Apps can also subscribe to targeted metafield changes, allowing triggers to fire only on specific field updates rather than broad resource changes. This lets apps query only the changed resource and avoid diffing payloads themselves. Topics not yet supported still require using webhooks alongside Events.

Questions this post answers

What new event topics can Shopify apps subscribe to now?

Shopify apps can now subscribe to four additional Events topics: Metaobject, MetafieldDefinition, MetaobjectDefinition, and InventoryTransfer. Apps can also subscribe to targeted metafield changes on specific fields, letting them query only the changed resource and field instead of diffing full payloads. This is available under the unstable API version during developer preview. Track Shopify's Events API changes as new topics roll out by following updates on daily.dev.

How do I subscribe to a specific metafield value change in Shopify Events?

Define an events subscription with topic Metaobject and a trigger like metaobject(type: 'books').field(key: 'title').value, then supply a GraphQL query to fetch that metaobject and field. The delivered payload includes a fields\_changed array identifying exactly which field changed and query\_variables for re-fetching the resource. Developers wiring up Shopify event subscriptions can keep pace with API changes on daily.dev.
