# Free Alternatives to Heroku

**[DEV](https://daily.dev/sources/devto)** · 1 min read · 285 upvotes · 13 comments

## Summary

Heroku has brought an end to free dynos and Postgres databases. Other free platforms can be used to host Django (Python) powered web applications for free. Fly and Render seems to offer Postgres on a free plan. Railway doesn't have a free tier, but basic usage is quite cheap.

> Lolo Code is free for your first two apps. But it is Serverless, event driven backend apps. You can do the same to some extent with other Serverless services but just to keep check of amount requests so you don't exceed the first free 1,000,000 events. You can deploy your frontend via Netlify or Vercel for free. Together those two options could be a good alternative.
