Cert Manager is a cloud-native certificate management solution for Kubernetes and OpenShift that automates TLS certificate provisioning. By installing it via Helm, you gain access to new Kubernetes objects called issuers and certificates. Issuers can point to Let's Encrypt for free public certificates or a self-signed CA for local/internal use. Once an issuer is configured, Cert Manager works with ingress controllers or Gateway API to automatically order and renew TLS certificates, storing them as Kubernetes secrets for HTTPS traffic.
