Work on automatic GPU detection for Intel and AMD hardware was completed in May. NVIDIA support is more complex due to multiple legacy driver branches, and an unresolved licensing issue means automatic NVIDIA driver selection won't be integrated into bsdinstall in the near term. Instead, users with NVIDIA GPUs will be prompted via a menu to manually select their driver version.
