The update addresses the 'swivel-chair' problem of toggling between separate tools by combining real-time log tailing, native Heroku dyno/database metrics, and context-aware alerting in one place. Librato and AppOptics add-ons were deprecated in January 2026, making Papertrail the consolidated replacement. The unified approach enables faster incident diagnosis by correlating log events and metric spikes on the same timeline, reducing mean time to resolution from hours to minutes.
