The flagship VLA model enables full-body control — from walking and crouching to fine motor tasks like tying knots — replacing the upper-body-only limitations of its predecessor. The embodied reasoning model (ER 2) acts as a high-level brain, enabling multi-step task planning, human communication, self-correction, and multi-robot collaboration for complex workflows lasting several minutes. A lightweight on-device variant runs locally without internet connectivity, prioritizing safety and reliability. Google also introduces ASIMOV-Agentic, a new benchmark for measuring agentic safety.
