# GigaWiper Lets Threat Actors Choose Their Own Destructive Attack

## Summary

GigaWiper is a novel modular malware that combines backdoor and wiper capabilities into a single implant, giving attackers flexibility to choose how they destroy a targeted system. Discovered during destructive activity in October 2025 and analyzed by Microsoft Threat Intelligence, it supports ~20 C2 commands and includes three destructive modules: a raw disk wiper, fake ransomware derived from the Crucio family that discards encryption keys, and a multipass file wiper based on FlockWiper. Unusually, it uses RabbitMQ (AMQP) and Redis for C2 communications rather than standard HTTP/DNS. Google Threat Intelligence tracks it as BlueRabbit, with Binary Defense attributing it to an Iran-based threat actor. Defenders are advised to hunt for RabbitMQ/Redis traffic on nonstandard ports, enable tamper protection, and block known C2 infrastructure.
