GentleOS/32 is a hobby operating system targeting vintage 32-bit PCs with minimal requirements: an i386 CPU, 4MB RAM, and a VGA display supporting 640x480x16 mode. It is monolithic, mostly compile-time configured, and supports standard PC peripherals including VGA/SVGA, keyboard, PS/2 mouse, serial mouse, and PC speaker. The project is designed for tinkering with retro hardware and running graphical apps on bare metal. A 16-bit spin-off called GentleOS/16 targets even older hardware going back to 80186.
