GitHub Copilot is expanding beyond the desktop with two new features. Remote control sessions let developers connect to their local Copilot CLI or IDE sessions from any internet-connected device, including mobile via the GitHub app or github.com, enabling real-time steering of active sessions on the go. Cloud sandbox sessions (now in public preview) give Copilot its own isolated cloud environment, so sessions persist even when the local machine goes offline, with configurable firewall and allow-list policies. A third feature called Chronicle indexes all Copilot sessions across clients to surface actionable tips, standup reports, custom instruction improvements, and cost optimization guidance.
